About Amy

Growing up in a family of medical providers, I have always loved the subject matter. Conversations around the dinner table were always interesting! However, if I had not had the introduction to acupuncture that I did, I’m not sure I ever would have tried it. “Insert needles into the body to make it feel better? Um…no thanks!” As luck would have it, I was introduced to complementary modalities early in life. I had a back injury horseback riding when I was young and my mother and grandmother (both nurses) took me to see a chiropractor. I was terrified! But the chiropractor was gentle with both chiropractic and acupuncture and not only did my back pain resolve but at the time I had bad menstrual cramps and those resolved as well!

This is why I love giving people their first acupuncture session and taking the fear out of treatment! I also do my best to demystify the process by explaining how it works and answering all questions.

Having utilized chiropractic care, massage, physical therapy, and acupuncture since I was young led me to a love for all ways of healing. I am a big believer in trying different things until you find what works for you.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona and a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Arizona School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

When not at the practice, I can be found hiking, taking ballet class, scuba diving, reading and most importantly spending time with my family.
